Contents page research

  • Within each of the example contents pages is more than one image with six of them featuring very clear and visible main image which takes up the majority of the page so it draws the readers eyes. However there is an exception to this in which the bottom left example has three equally sized pictures in a vertical line perhaps showing they're all of the same amount of importance. Also in the majority of the examples the main image is located in the top right of the page and takes up the majority of it
  • In the majority of the examples there is a small article beneath the main image which is related to the image itself; to one side of the text (usually the right)are several different headings with pages numbers and text beneath them showing what else the magazine contains.
  • All of the examples include the heading of 'contents' at the top in large font to show people clearly that this is the contents page, in all but one of the examples it features in the same font as the magazines masthead. however the one exception in the bottom right has contents in a font that isn't the same as the masthead and appears unique in its font.
  • All of the contents pages feature a colour scheme of three main colours all of with are one combination of red, black, white and yellow. All of the headings to indicate what else is contained within the magazine are either on a colourful background so they stand out or are in an outlandish font so they also stand out. Also on all of the contents pages are advertisements and pugs telling people that they can win things like tickets, posters etc.
